Prior to leaving for a trip to Charlottesville, you can see the exposed heart pine (which we will reclaim) along with trenches and framing that went up. In addition to roughing out the plumbing, they were also able to go a bit further on pouring footers and installing the vapor barrier:

While away, they demoed the existing kitchen to reveal these beautiful slats of wood (type not yet known) that we’ll also reclaim (photo by Mary Quinn Templeton):

Some of the heart pine won’t be able to be reclaimed due to elemental damage and termite nibblings:

All in all, things are cooking along at Cannon House. Poor Triscuit is in for a big surprise when we get home—her lair will be in major disarray.
